How Thermochemical Crystallization Protects Marble
Calcium-rich natural stones like Italian marble, Statuario, Botticino, and Makrana are naturally soft on the Mohs mineral hardness scale (typically 3 to 4 out of 10). Everyday shoe grit, pet claws, and shifting furniture easily leave visible micro-scratches on an untreated polished floor.
Marble crystallization is a scientifically proven thermochemical reaction. A specialized fluorosilicate fluid or paste is sprayed onto the honed marble and agitated under a heavy-duty single-disc rotary machine fitted with fine steel wool pads. The friction heat and chemical reaction convert the soft surface calcium carbonate ($CaCO_3$) into ultra-hard calcium fluorosilicate ($CaSiF_6$), creating an integrated, glass-like micro-layer that will not peel, flake, or yellow.

In residential settings, a light crystallization maintenance buffing once every 18 to 24 months keeps the shine perpetual.
